Food & Drink
Just steps from Ceol na Mara’s guesthouse on Main Street, you’ll discover Enniscrone’s cluster of award-winning restaurants, bars and traditional pubs. Relax in Gilroy’s Bar, marvel at the fine food in Áit Eile Restaurant, or head next-door for a Reel Deel (local craft beer) and a pizza in the Pilot Bar. Across the road you’ll find a unique watering-hole, Hopkins’ pub (where you can perch yourself on a bar stool – or a church pew!). A little further along the street, you may well catch a few tunes in McNulty’s Bar while sipping on a creamy pint.
Other dining options in Enniscrone range from an Indian feast at Spicy Affair to waffles and ice-cream at Maple Moose, while Tracey’s Café offers great juices, baking and coffee. If you’d like to enjoy fish and chips while sitting watching the waves, why not get a take-away from one of the local chippers and grab a bench along the prom. And for dessert, don’t miss Gelati – Enniscrone’s artisan ice-cream parlour is officially home to the ‘Best Ferrero Rocher Gelato In The World’!
The town’s two hotels, the Ocean Sands (just a couple of doors down from Ceol na Mara) and the Diamond Coast (at the end of the town), also offer a great range of food and drink, not to mention the Clubhouse Restaurant at Enniscrone Golf Club, where locals in the know often head straight for the ‘19th hole’!
If you’re taking a short spin out of town, on Saturday mornings you’ll find a local farmers’ market in nearby Ballina or if you’re heading north, pop into the critically acclaimed Pudding Row café and bakery in Easkey for brunch. If you’re still feeling peckish when you get back to Enniscrone, stop off at one of the local shops to pick up one of Breege Conway’s freshly baked apple tarts!
